The Prom Shop Project™ was founded during the spring of 2001 by Kim Peters. New to Dallas, Ms. Peters wanted to make a positive impact on the young people in her new community by volunteering her time to a worthwhile cause.
After much consideration, she decided to give back in the way she knew best - with her flair for style and shopping! Kim felt that her endeavor would need to have a positive impact on young women and girls, not to mention contribute to their educational and emotional growth.
And so . . . Voilá! The birth of the "Prom Shop Project!™"
The Prom Shop Project™ was founded during the spring of 2001, by Kim Peters in Dallas, Texas and in Austin, Texas during the Spring of 2003. Ms. Sophie Perkins heads up the worthwhile cause with a team of dedicated volunteers in the capital city. Each year girls in the Austin area can look forward to the same community based activities geared toward their overall emotional growth and education.
